How do I become Cisco Qualified? 
To become Cisco qualified you have to pass the relevant Cisco certification exam in a VUE testing centre.
Leeds City College has a VUE testing centre available at the Technology Campus, but you can sit your exam at any convenient VUE testing centre.
To create a VUE account, locate a testing centre and book an exam you need to visit the Cisco section of the Pearson Vue website and on the right hand side you will see the relevant links.
You will need to book the correct exam.
CCENT
You will need to pass this exam to become CCENT certified:
- 640-822 Interconnecting Cisco Networking Devices Part 1 (ICND1)
CCNA
There are two paths to obtain the CCNA. Either pass both of the following exams:
- 640-822 Interconnecting Cisco Networking Devices Part 1 (ICND1)
and
- 640-816 Interconnecting Cisco Networking Devices Part 2 (ICND2)
Or take the single exam path:
- 640-802 CCNA
Discount vouchers from the Network Academy
50% off vouchers are only available to those students who have taken the official Cisco Network Academy courses with us. How you qualify for and obtain the voucher depends on which Cisco Network Academy curriculum you studied.
With the CCNA DISCOVERY curriculum
To earn an ICND1 voucher that maps to the CCENT (640-822) Certification exam, students must complete the two CCNA Discovery courses: 'Networking for Home and Small Businesses' and 'Working at a Small-to-Medium Business or ISP'. They must also receive a score of 75 percent or higher on their first attempt of the final exam for the 'Working at a Small-to-Medium Business or ISP' course.
In order for students to receive a request link for the CCNA Composite and ICND2 vouchers, they must complete all four courses of the CCNA Discovery curriculum and receive a score of 75 percent or higher on their first attempt of the final exam for the final CCNA Discovery course: 'Designing and Supporting Computer Networks'.
With the CCNA EXPLORATION curriculum
In order for students to receive a request for the ICND1, ICND2, and the CCNA vouchers, students must complete all four courses of the CCNA Exploration curriculum and receive a score of 75 percent or higher on their first attempt of the final exam for the final CCNA Exploration course: 'Accessing the WAN'.
Qualifying students will automatically receive a Voucher Request link(s) within 72 hours after the Instructor passes the student from the class. The links will appear as below on the Student Home page:
- Request for ICND1 Voucher
- Request for ICND2 Voucher
- Request for CCNA Composite Voucher
All students will have the opportunity to receive all three Discount Voucher request links but will not have the ability to obtain all three Discount Vouchers. Students may request the Discount Vouchers the following ways:
- Students may request the ICND1 and the ICND2 Discount Vouchers
or
- Students may request the CCNA Composite Discount Voucher
Further exam preparation
You may feel that you need to do some more consolidated exam preparation before attempting the certification exams. We offer two possible options.
We do a 5 day CCNA exam preparation course for those who have previous experience or perhaps have completed the CCNA evening program with us but want to cover all the key topics again before attempting the certification exam.
